A frame mount adds to the XDM 5.25"'s already forward-shifted balance -- the longer slide and barrel already push the balance point toward the muzzle, and a frame mount extends that further. More front mass means less rotation causing muzzle rise after each shot, which is the direct mechanism by which split times tighten on competition stages. The XDM 5.25" shares its frame rail with the standard XDM.
